Fit for 6" Cans - The most common recessed can size in homes today is the 6". The recessed cans are plenty big enough to fit the MusicLites unit, but there are many trim rings (like a honeycomb shaped versions) that prevent the MusicLites unit from reaching the socket with use of an extender or the removing of the trim ring. As in the previous examples, you can either use the existing trim ring with an extender or remove the existing trim ring and replace it with the 6" trim ring MusicLites accessory.
With each recessed can size, your best performance will occur if you can adjust the socket and trim ring to make the MusicLites unit flush with the ceiling. In fact, using the MusicLites trim rings requires the light to be flush so you can slide over the top. You may need to consult the instructions for your recessed can for adjustments to the socket, but typically, there is a wing nut that can be loosened to lower or raise the bracket.
